Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide support for estimating preconstruction and bid efforts with quantity take-offs and bid review
  • Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
  • Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
  • Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements
  • Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Presents prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Maintains cost database by entering and backing up data
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Required Experience

  • 3 years minimum combined work experience in building construction and estimating
  • Proficient with the following software programs: MS Office (Word, Outlook), Skype, On-Screen Take-Off (OST), Bluebeam, Box
  • Familiar or experience with the following software programs a plus: BIM (Building Integration Method) & Revit by Autodesk, Primavera, Sure Trak, or other scheduling programs
  • Familiar with the Construction Specification Institute (CSI) Master Format
  • Familiar with the Uniform Building Code (UBC), International Building Code (IBC), and International Code Council (ICC)
  • Familiar with different types of building construction (i.e.Type I; II; III; IV; V)
  • Familiar with the different types of estimating format (by Trade; by Division and Systems or Assembly)

  Minimum Qualifications

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction related field

A Successful Candidate must have

  • The ability to speak, read and write fluent English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications, and other construction documents
  • Ability to perform quantity survey and identify different construction materials
  • Ability to identify construction trades involved or required on a project
