Roles and Responsibilities

  • Daily management of correspondence with the Brisbane office
  • Daily management of workflow
  • On-time completion of all tax work
  • Basic understanding of Australian tax law and surrounding tax concepts
  • Basic understanding of Capital Gains events in regard to the sale of property or shares
  • Understanding of tax treatment for foreign residents and treatment of foreign income

Required Experience

  • 0-1 year industry-relevant experience in a similar role
  • Proven work output and attainment of KPI’s/budgets
  • Experience with the Xero App suite such as Xero Practice Manager, Xero Blue, FYI, Docs, Practice Ignition, Now Infinity, Hubdocs, etc.
  • Xero Certification preferred, or completed within the first 6 months
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree major in Accounting
  • CPA qualified (or working towards it) under PICPA member pathway agreement, preferred but not essential

A Successful Candidate must have

  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to sort and compile documents into a logical order, and disseminating information from documents
  • Ability to complete a rental property schedule
  • Ability to complete an ITR with a basic business schedule
  • Basic understanding of dividends
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
  • An attitude of being organised and able to meet deadlines
