Roles and Responsibilities

  • Prepare a range of complex financial statements in accordance with regulatory, accounting, and financial reporting standards
  • Prepare tax returns and Business Activity Statements
  • Prepare clear and concise work papers
  • Review and provide feedback for jobs and tasks completed by subordinates in an overseas office, maintaining a high level of quality assurance
  • Complete compliance work for large complex groups.
  • Preparing income tax returns, financial statements for clients with varying structures
  • Provide tax strategy suggestions for job completion. Identifying areas where clients and businesses can reduce tax, make claims and increase profit
  • Preparing business activity statements and periodic reporting
  • Maintaining and continually improving accounting function for full-service clients including control over general ledger
  • Undertake independent research
  • Work independently with minimal guidance
  • Possessing strong knowledge of tax law and statutory regulations. Initiate and develop a specialty
  • Advising on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems
  • General tax and administration matters when required
  • Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and other regulatory bodies when required
  • Other tasks directed by the manager and related to the role

Required Experience

  • Experienced and proficient in the preparation of Financial Statements, Income Tax Returns, and Activity Statements for all entities

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience working in an Australian Accounting Practice

A Successful Candidate must have

  • Have strong technical skills especially around companies, Div 7A, and  trust structures
  • Have strong research skills
  • Have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Possess a high degree of quality and professionalism
  • Current Xero Certification
  • Demonstrated Experience Managing clients and staff
